The Desire Map as a Tool for End-of-Life Planning

by , | May 10, 2019

Heart-centred end-of-life planning reflects your essences. But how do we keep returning to our heart center again and again? Well, our dear friend and mentor, Danielle Laporte created The Desire Map to address this very need. The Desire Map is an approach that lets you choose how you want to feel in life and actually keep those feelings alive as you go. We love it as a tool for end-of-life planning.

Change your feelings and you could change everything.

What old world healers have known, science is now proving. Our emotions lead our biology—having a profound effect on our heart rhythms, brain chemistry, and the myriad of systems they control. Stress brings chaos in the heart, positivity brings calm and steadiness.

Choosing how you feel is the ultimate self-agency. Our feelings inform our thoughts and our thoughts inform our behaviour. You could lessen your suffering, even in slow-to-change, less-than-ideal circumstances. This is about feeling good, yes, but really it’s about using our heart-brain to nourish ourselves, each other, and the planet. That’s the essence of Desire Mapping.

Our core desired feelings keep fueling us.

We both read The Desire Map and it continues to fuel and guide us as we move through all realms of our lives and our personal end-of-life planning.

Reena’s core desired feelings are: dauntless, at home and in love. Michelle’s core desired feelings are: inspiration, freedom and delight.

What about you?

How do you want to feel?

How do your core desired feelings impact your end-of-life planning?
